Miriam Graves

The world premiere for Miriam Graves was held at the 2019 Independent Filmmakers Showcase Los Angeles Film Festival.

Miriam Graves stars Gil Fajardo, Tara Strand, Anastasia Blackwell, Rob Androus, Cliff Redding as G-Man, and Richard Tur as Nada. Introducing Shelli St. George in the titular role as Miriam Graves.

The film is written, produced and directed by Richard Tur. His previous short films include ‘Ajay‘ and ‘Mission 8‘.

Miriam Graves won the award for Best Thriller. In addition, the film was nominated for Best Picture.

I.F.S. L.A. Film Festival took place at the world-famous Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE / L.A. Convention Center Entertainment Complex – located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. It featured over two-hundred new films, making the event one of the largest festivals in its 29-year history.

“I’m thrilled that Miriam Graves will have its world premiere in Los Angeles where the film was made,” said Richard Tur, the film’s director. “I’m grateful to the cast and crew who worked so hard to make this film a reality.”

The 2019 program featured a line-up of new cinema from well known filmmakers and actors including: Cate Blanchett, Matthew McConaughey, Diane Lane, Anne Hathaway, Chloë Grace Moretz, Billy Bob Thornton, Alec Baldwin, Djimon Hounsou, Adam Driver, and more.

Story

Miriam Graves is coming apart at the seams.

Her years of disappointment and quiet desperation have made her life intolerable. The normal life she longed for has eluded her. Lonely and impoverished, she aimlessly wanders the streets of Los Angeles.

Her privileged sister, Sarah, lives the good life with a charming husband. She lives in an opulent house in a tony neighborhood, but burdened with having to deal with Miriam’s paranoid delusions.

As their relationship deteriorates, so goes what’s left of Miriam’s fragile sanity.

Miriam believes an angel of death is stalking her… and she may not be imagining it.

Filmmaker

Richard Tur

Richard Tur wrote, produced, directed, acted and edited Miriam Graves. It is his first feature film. His previous short films include ‘Ajay’ and ‘Mission 8’.

He taught himself filmmaking by observing how film and television shows were made while working as a background actor in Hollywood. He later worked crew on other films that he could learn how to make his own films on a budget.

He works as a location sound mixer and also does post-production work.
