DCP Package Creation

Production, Technology | June 15, 2019

Cinefina offers Digital Cinema Package (DCP) creation services for filmmakers ready for the festival circuit.

Our DCPs are made to industry-compliant standards for exhibition in any cinema worldwide.

Most festivals do not accept USB external hard drives, flash drives nor drives formatted for NTFS or MacOS. Our drives are configured for Linux (EXT3 / 128 inode) that work with the servers used at Regal Cinemas, AMC Theaters, and ArcLight Cinemas.

We use the CRU-DataPort Digital Cinema Kit 1 that includes the DX115 DC (that connects to a digital cinema server), a rugged Pelican-style transport case, and special cut foam inserts to protect the drive carrier in transit.

If you need the CRU-DataPort Digital Cinema Kit 2 that includes the move-dock adapter (USB 3.0 connection), we can set that up as well.

If required, we can upmix your film from stereo to 5.1 surround sound. All modern theaters are equipped for surround sound by default and do not use the front-only speakers for dialog with stereo. Academy-qualifying festivals will only accept surround sound.

If your film was created in 23.98 fps, we can conform it to 24 fps (the conversion adds about 30 seconds to a 90-minute film with no perceptible difference.

We can also create and duplicate Blu-ray and DVD screener discs, required as back-ups at many festivals.
